Issuing receipts
This feature is only available for businesses located in the EU.
A receipt, also known as a simplified invoice, is a shortened version of a full invoice. Unlike a regular invoice, customer billing details (such as name or address) are optional. This makes receipts ideal for sales where you don't collect all the buyer's information.
In Quaderno, receipts can only be issued for domestic sales where the total amount (including taxes) doesn't exceed a limit set by each country's regulations.
Activating Receipts Issuing
By default, Quaderno doesn't issue receipts. If you want to enable this feature, simply follow these steps:
- Go to your Quaderno account's preferences page.
- In the Documents section, enter the

. This maximum amount is defined by each country's tax regulations. - Save your changes.
How to Create a Receipt
You can create receipts either automatically or manually.
Automatic creation: If your store is connected to Quaderno, a receipt will be issued automatically for all domestic sales that are below the set limit and are missing customer information.
Manual creation: To manually generate a receipt, follow these steps:
- Go to your customer's contact page in Quaderno.
- In the menu with the "..." icon, select the

Common Questions
Can I convert a receipt into an invoice?
No. You will need to cancel the receipt and then create a new invoice with all the customer's details.
Can I issue a receipt to a foreign customer?
No. Quaderno only issues receipts for domestic sales, where the customer and the vendor are located in the same country. Simplified invoices were designed for physical businesses (like the one you receive at a store or restaurant). If your customer is in a different country, tax authorities usually require more details to justify the applied tax rate.
