Can I apply retention taxes with Quaderno Checkout?

Quaderno Checkout doesn’t support automatically applying retention taxes (IRPF). Our checkout system is mainly designed for online sellers, where you usually don’t know if your customer is buying as an individual or as a freelancer.

For this reason, Quaderno Checkout is not optimized for situations where you need to apply retention taxes.

That said, Quaderno does allow you to apply retention taxes on manual invoices or one-off charges. In these cases, we recommend creating the invoices manually from your Quaderno account and sending them to your customer. Then, the customer will be able to pay the invoice easily using the “Pay now” button. Here you can find more information: How to use the “Pay now” button on your invoices.

We recommend checking with your tax advisor to see if there’s any alternative that would allow you to sell without applying withholding tax, as this would greatly simplify your billing process.
