Collecting billing details in Quaderno Checkout

When using Quaderno Checkout, you can decide how much billing information to collect from your customers. This is controlled by the Collect billing details setting, which has two options:

• Always: The checkout will always request the billing address and tax ID.
• Only if needed: The checkout will request only the billing details required, based on tax rules and compliance requirements.

How "only if needed" works

When you choose Only if needed, Quaderno automatically determines which billing details to collect:

• If the customer’s country matches your business country, the tax ID will be:
  • Mandatory for sales in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Spain, Croatia, Italy, and Portugal.
  • Optional in all other EU countries.
• A full billing address is always required when a valid tax ID is provided.

This ensures your checkout remains as smooth as possible for customers, while still collecting the information you need for compliance.
