Plans & pricing
Quaderno offers competitive pricing plans to help you find one that fits your needs and budget.
If you are unsure which pricing plan to choose, then register for a 7-day free trial to see how Quaderno's features can help you manage your sales tax and build your business. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan anytime.
If you want to try Quaderno before committing to an active monthly plan, then you can sign up for a free 7-day trial. Your free trial begins when you first sign up, not when you start working on your account. You won't lose any of the work you complete on your account during your free trial when you choose a paid plan.
If you don't select a monthly plan at the end of your free trial, then your account will be frozen and you will not be able to continue working on it until you choose a paid plan.
If you want to cancel your Quaderno account during your free trial and you haven't selected a pricing plan, then you don't need to take any action. Your account will be frozen and you won't be charged for anything when your trial expires.
Plans and features
Quaderno plans are based on the number of transactions generated in your Quaderno account, the number of registered jurisdictions (where you have a local tax number and are officially collecting taxes), and the number of calls to the Quaderno API per month.
|Plan||Transactions ¹||Registered jurisdictions ²||Price (€/$)|
¹ Transactions include invoices, receipts, credit notes, and expenses.
² Registered jurisdictions refer to the locations where your business is registered to collect taxes and has a local tax number. This registration is independent of the countries or states where you sell your products or services.
All Quaderno plans include the following features:
- Worldwide tax calculations.
- Automatic tax receipts.
- Multichannel tax reports.
- International tax alerts.
- Unlimited users.
- Unlimited products and contacts.
- Unlimited integrations.
- "Pay now" buttons.
- Quaderno Checkout.
We offer plans for up to millions of transactions per month.

Will we be charged when our trial is up?
No. We don't ask for your credit card upfront, so you'll only be charged when you decide you’re ready. We'll ask for payment details only if you want to continue after your trial. If not, your account will be canceled automatically, no questions asked.
What if we need a longer trial?
We’re happy to give you some more time. Just let us know and we'll extend your trial.
How do I cancel my account during my free trial?
If you don't choose a pricing plan during your free trial, then your account will be frozen at the end of the free trial. You won't be charged for anything when your free trial expires.
What is a transaction?
Quaderno counts all documents created in your account as transactions. This includes invoices, receipts, credit notes, and expenses. Documents created manually or through an integration all count towards your transaction limit. See “Transaction” in our Glossary.
What is a “registered jurisdiction”?
A tax jurisdiction is an area subject to its own tax regulations.
Registered jurisdictions refer to the locations where your business is registered to collect taxes and has a local tax number. This registration is independent of the countries or states where you sell your products or services.
How are registered jurisdictions counted for calculating the pricing plan?
Your business collects taxes at least in the country where it is based. That would count as one registered jurisdiction. For businesses selling in Europe, it's common to also register in the EU VAT OSS scheme, which counts as another registered jurisdiction.
Let’s see a couple of examples:
- A US online seller based in Ohio surpassed the tax threshold for Illinois and Ohio. They also sell across several EU countries. Their business is registered in the Alabama and Ohio tax agencies, as well as the EU VAT OSS scheme. This would count as 3 registered jurisdictions.
- An EU online seller based in Belgium is selling all over Europe. Their business is registered in Belgium as well as the EU VAT OSS scheme. This would count as 2 registered jurisdictions.
What if I go over the transaction limit of my current plan?
We keep an eye on that for you! As you approach the transaction limit for your plan, we’ll notify you that you’ve reached 90% and 100% of your limit. These alerts give you time to upgrade your Quaderno subscription so that it’ll cover your booming business.
You can upgrade your subscription directly on the billing details page. As a courtesy, we also offer the option to contract extra transactions for 25 cents each. That way you are not forced to upgrade if you hit the plan limit in a single month because of a peak in volume.
When you exceed your plan’s limits two months in a row, the system will automatically upgrade your plan to the next appropriate tier.
How is my payment processed?
We use Stripe to process your payment. It's the same payment provider used by products like Twitter, Pinterest, and Lyft. We do not handle your credit card information directly.
Do you have monthly and yearly billing options?
Yes! We offer either monthly or yearly billing options. The yearly billing option is always cheaper (2 months off). Our Enterprise plans are not compatible with the yearly offer.
Can I downgrade my annual plan?
If you downgrade your annual plan, you wouldn't get a refund but we would apply a credit for the next time your plan renews.
What happens if my payment fails? (E.g. my credit card expired.)
We'll send an email to the email address associated with your account after each failed payment. Payment may be retried up to 4 times. After this, if the payment did not succeed, your account will be paused until you re-enter your payment details.
Can I pause or close my account?
Sure! You can pause or close your account. Pausing your account is temporary while closing your account is permanent. For more information, see the guide Pausing and closing your account.
Do you offer refunds?
We don't offer refunds, however we do have an account credit system. If your plan is downgraded during your billing period, your account will be credited accordingly. The next time your account is charged, any remaining balance will be used before we charge you again.
Do you have a Service-Level Agreement (SLA)?
We offer a premium SLA to customers starting at the 10k transactions per month tier. You can check our uptime at https://quaderno.statuspage.io.
