Working with Tax-Exclusive Prices in WooCommerce

The WooCommerce Quaderno plugin is the ultimate tool for stress-free tax compliance. It automatically calculates the correct tax on every sale and instantly delivers tax-compliant invoices and credit notes, regardless of your customer's location.

This guide details the quick steps to configure your WooCommerce store to work perfectly with Quaderno if you want to display and charge prices that exclude tax.

Step 1: WooCommerce Price Display Configuration

These settings ensure that your customers see prices excluding tax, matching your preferred sales model.

Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Tax, navigate to the Tax options tab, and select the following values:

Field Value Rationale
Prices entered with tax Yes, I will enter prices exclusive of tax Tells WooCommerce that the product prices you input are the base, pre-tax value.
Display prices in the shop Excluding tax Ensures all product pages show the net price.
Display prices during cart and checkout Excluding tax Ensures consistency throughout the customer journey before tax is applied by Quaderno.

Step 2: Clear WooCommerce Standard Rates

To guarantee that only Quaderno calculates the tax, you must clear out any rate entries in your WooCommerce account. Failing to do this can result in double taxation errors.

  1. Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Tax.
  2. Select the Standard rates tab.
  3. Ensure that this entire rate table is completely empty (no rows should be present).

Your WooCommerce store is now fully configured to use the power and accuracy of the Quaderno plugin. Quaderno will now handle all real-time tax calculations and invoices, keeping your business compliant worldwide.
